What is VoxScriber? AI Audio and Video Transcription
Understand what VoxScriber is, how the platform turns audio and video into text with artificial intelligence, what engines exist, and what you can do with the finished transcript.
VoxScriber is a platform that turns audio and video into text using artificial intelligence. You send a file (or a YouTube link, or an audio via WhatsApp), choose the transcription quality, and get the text ready to edit, export, and share — in Portuguese and in more than 160 languages and variants.
How it works, in short
- Send the audio or video — via the website, YouTube/URL link, WhatsApp, or API.
- AI transcribes it — you choose the transcription engine based on your needs.
- Work with the result — edit the text, identify speakers, generate summaries and minutes, translate, export (PDF, TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON), or share via link.
The four transcription engines
Premium (default)
High accuracy, optimized for Brazilian Portuguese, with automatic summary and speaker detection. It is the default engine for all plans, including the free one. Costs 4 cycles per minute.
Standard
Excellent for audio with background noise, varied accents, and difficult recordings. It's the most economical: 1 cycle per minute.
Ultra
Maximum quality, with precise detection of multiple speakers. Available starting with the Pro plan. Costs 10 cycles per minute.
Nano (in the browser)
Free and private transcription that runs on your own device — the audio never leaves your computer. Costs 0 cycles and has its own monthly quota per plan.
What are cycles?
Cycles are the platform's internal currency: 1 cycle equals 15 seconds of audio on the Premium engine (that is, 1 minute = 4 cycles). Each engine consumes cycles at a different rate — that's why the same cycles yield more minutes on the Standard engine. The free plan comes with 120 cycles, which give you 30 minutes on Premium or up to 120 minutes on Standard. See the details in Understand cycles.
What you can do with the finished transcript
- Edit the text and rename speakers, in an editor with a synchronized player;
- Generate with AI: automatic title, summary, meeting or hearing minutes, translation, and chat with the content;
- Export as PDF, TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, and JSON (formats vary by plan);
- Share via public link, with control over the summary and audio;
- Search your entire archive and even ask it questions with AI ("Ask your archive").
Privacy and security
The content of your transcripts is encrypted (AES-256-GCM, with a unique key per user) — an isolated database leak does not expose your texts. Users in Europe have data stored in European jurisdiction. And if you want maximum privacy, the Nano engine transcribes locally, without the audio leaving your device.
You don't need a credit card to get started: create a free account, verify your email (or WhatsApp), and transcribe right away.
