Multi-Account Policy
How VoxScriber detects duplicate accounts created to bypass the free plan, what happens when an account is blocked, and how to request unblocking.
The Free plan renews 120 cycles every 30 days — for one person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to multiply the free limit violates the terms of service, and the platform detects and blocks this pattern automatically. This article explains how detection works and what to do if you were blocked.
How detection works
The central signal is the file: the same audio (same content fingerprint) sent by different accounts within a 7-day window. By itself, this doesn't block anyone — automatic blocking requires corroborating signals, such as:
- The accounts using the same IP address;
- The accounts created less than 1 hour apart;
- The same file name.
We also monitor the creation of many accounts from the same IP within a few hours, which triggers a review alert.
Anyone with an active paid plan is immune to automatic blocking — the detection exists to protect the free plan, not to inconvenience customers. The product's own sample files are also ignored by the detection.
What happens when an account is blocked
- The session is ended and access to account features returns an account-blocked error;
- You receive an email explaining the reason;
- The message indicates the path to regularize the situation — in general, concentrate usage on a single account and, if your volume exceeded the Free plan, subscribe to a plan.
Sharing the same audio between your account and a colleague's (same office, same IP) can look like multi-account to the automatic signals. If this is your case — two real people in the same location working on the same file — explain it to support: false positives are reviewed.
How to request unblocking
Open a ticket (or reply to the blocking email) explaining the context: who uses each account, why the same file appeared on more than one. The analysis is human and takes your history into account.
Need more people to use the platform in the same office? The right way is the business plan: one organization with unlimited members on the plan, a shared cycle pool, and a team library — without any risk of looking like multi-account.
Frequently asked questions
My account was blocked for 'duplicate account' — now what?
Reply to the block email or open a ticket explaining your case. If it was a mistake (colleagues on the same IP, a legitimately shared file), unblocking will be evaluated.
I use the platform at home and at work — will I be blocked?
No: using the SAME account in different places and devices is normal (up to 5 simultaneous sessions). The problem is one person with MULTIPLE free accounts.
My family uses the same Wi-Fi — will our accounts be blocked?
Shared IP alone doesn't block. The trigger is the same file on different accounts combined with signals like IP and simultaneous account creation.
I'm a paying customer — can I be blocked for multi-account?
Accounts with an active paid plan are immune to automatic blocking under this policy.
Two of our accounts need the same audio — how to do it properly?
Use the transcript's share-by-link feature, or set up an organization (business plan) with a shared library.
