Coupons and Promotions
VoxScriber discount coupon rules: where to apply them, why some are only valid for the first charge, affiliate coupons, and the retention discount.
Discount coupons work both in the card checkout and on purchases via PIX. This article explains the rules that apply to all coupons — and why sometimes a code "doesn't work".
Where to apply
- Card (Stripe): enter the code in the coupon field at checkout. When there is no pre-applied discount, the checkout itself accepts typeable promo codes.
- PIX: enter the coupon before generating the QR code — the discount is validated on the server and the QR amount is already reduced.
Rules any coupon can have
Each coupon carries its own conditions, checked at the time of use:
- Validity (start and end dates);
- Global usage limit — once exhausted, the code stops working;
- First purchase only — many coupons are exclusive to people who have never bought before;
- Minimum purchase amount;
- Eligible plans — the public tiered coupon (PROMO), for example, applies to the Advanced, Pro, and Premium plans, but not to Lite.
By default, the discount applies only to the first charge of the subscription — from the second monthly payment onward, the price goes back to full. Special coupons can last for several months, but that's an exception and it's stated in the offer.
Affiliate coupons
Codes shared by partner content creators (e.g., JOAO20) give a discount of up to 20% and also register the referral for the partner. Two rules:
- You can't use your own affiliate coupon;
- If you had already been referred through another link before, the first referral prevails.
Retention discount
Thinking of canceling? In the cancellation flow, we offer 30% off for one billing cycle so you can reconsider. This offer doesn't stack: if there is already another active discount on the subscription, it can't be applied.
Frequently asked questions
My coupon says 'not available for the selected plan' — why?
The coupon has a list of eligible plans. The most common case is the PROMO tiered coupon, which doesn't cover the Lite plan — choose Advanced, Pro, or Premium, or use another code.
Does the discount last forever?
In general, no: it applies to the first charge. Renewal goes back to full price unless the offer explicitly says it lasts for more months.
The code doesn't work — what should I check?
Check the validity period, usage limit (it may have run out), whether it's only for the first purchase, the minimum amount, and the eligible plan. If everything looks correct, send the code to support to check.
Can I use a coupon when paying by PIX?
Yes — the discount is applied before the QR code is generated.
I'm an affiliate — can I buy with my own code?
No, self-usage is blocked. The affiliate coupon is for the people you refer.
