Edit Transcription: Fix Text and Rename Speakers
How to use the transcription editor: text correction with manual saving, speaker renaming with immediate saving, and edit history.
Every transcription can be corrected in the built-in editor: adjust words, punctuation, and speaker names, and exports (PDF, DOCX, subtitles) will use the corrected text. Note one important detail: the text doesn't save by itself — use the Save button.
How to edit
Open the transcription in your library
Click the transcription to open the work screen, with the text on one side and the synchronized player on the other.
Correct the text
Click the passage and edit directly. Use the player to listen to the audio of the passage while correcting. See Synchronized player.
Save your changes
While there are pending changes, a notice about "unsaved changes" is visible. Click Save to record them. Only then do the edits apply to exports and sharing.
There is no automatic text saving. If you close the tab with pending changes, they are lost. Save before leaving — the unsaved changes notice is your reminder.
Rename speakers: saves immediately
Unlike text, renaming a speaker saves immediately, without going through the Save button. Click the speaker label (for example, "Speaker 1"), type the real name, and you're done. Names apply to all utterances by that speaker and appear in exports and the minutes.
The AI also suggests names automatically after transcription — but what you type always takes precedence. See Speaker identification.
Who can edit
Only the author of the transcription edits the content. In organizations, the owner and administrators can view and export team transcriptions, but cannot edit them — editing remains exclusive to whoever created the transcription.
Security and history
- The edited content is stored with the same encryption as the original transcription (AES-256-GCM, with a per-account key).
- Each save records an edit history with date — the date of the last edit is visible in the transcription.
Editing is free and unlimited: no credits are consumed by corrections. It's worth reviewing before exporting the final document.
Frequently asked questions
Do my edits save automatically?
No. Text is only saved when you click Save. The only exception is speaker renaming, which saves immediately.
I edited the text — will the exported PDF come corrected?
Yes, as long as you saved. Exports always use the latest saved version.
Can someone else in my company edit my transcription?
No. Only the author edits. Organization owners and admins can view and export, but not change.
Can I undo a saved edit?
There's no button to revert to previous versions today. The history records when edits happened, but restoration is not self-service — if you need help, contact support.
