Change Account Details
What you can change yourself in your VoxScriber account (password, MFA, sessions, WhatsApp) and why changing your email goes through support.
In your account settings, you manage your access and security data. Most of it is self-service — with one important exception: the email address, which in a verified account can only be changed through support.
What you can change on your own
Password
In Settings, enter your current password and the new one. The change triggers a security alert by email and automatically rebuilds the protection of your encryption key — your transcriptions remain intact. Password requirements: at least 8 characters with uppercase, lowercase, and a number (common passwords are blocked).
Created your account via Google/Facebook and never set a password? Use the "forgot password" flow to create one — see Recover password and access.
Two-step verification (MFA)
Enable MFA via authenticator app (TOTP) in settings. You'll receive backup codes — keep them safe: they're your way in if you lose your phone.
Sessions and devices
Your account supports up to 5 simultaneous sessions (on any plan). In the sessions panel, you can list connected devices, disconnect a specific one, or use "sign out of all". Sessions last 30 days with "remember me" (24 hours without).
Linked WhatsApp
The verified WhatsApp number stays linked to the account — one number only verifies one account. To change the number, unlink it in settings and link the new one.
Email: why you can't change it on your own
Changing your email in a verified account is not available as self-service. The field appears read-only with the notice "To change your email, contact support." The email is the anchor for your account's identity, billing, and encryption — the change is performed by support after identity validation.
The only exception is for newly created accounts that haven't been verified yet (less than 48 hours): in that case, you can correct a mistyped email in the verification flow itself, by entering your password.
To change the email of a verified account: open a ticket from the current email address, providing the new one.
Frequently asked questions
I typed the wrong email during signup — what now?
If the account is less than 48 hours old and hasn't been verified, correct it in the verification flow (using your password). After that, contact support.
Does changing my password delete my transcriptions?
No. The encryption key protection is rebuilt automatically on the change — your collection remains.
How many devices can I use at the same time?
Up to 5 simultaneous sessions on any plan. From the sixth on, disconnect an old one in the sessions panel.
I see a device I don't recognize — what should I do?
Disconnect it in the sessions panel (or use "sign out of all"), change your password, and enable MFA.
Can I have a verified account through WhatsApp only, without an email?
WhatsApp verification allows you to use the platform as an alternative to email, but the email remains the account identifier and the channel for important notices.
